From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 91µÎµÎ students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Description

The Census Geography Files depict the boundaries of standard geography units of Statistics Canada. Standard geography units include (for some, but not all census years): Provinces and Territories, Federal Electoral Districts, Census Divisions, Census Subdivisions, Census Consolidated Subdivisions Census Metroplitain Areas, Census Agglomeration Areas, Census Tracts, Designated Places, Urban Areas, Enumeration Areas. Road Network Files and Postal Code files are available for some but not all of the census years. These files are designed to be used exclusively in a geographic information system such as ArcGIS.

System Requirements

To extract and manipulate these files, you must have access to ArcView 3.x, or ArcGIS, or GIS software capable of supporting e00 file formats. ArcGIS is available on the public workstations at the Geographic Information Centre and at the Macdonald Campus Library electronic classroom.
