Postdoctoral Fellowship in Taiwan Studies

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Taiwan Studies 2021-2022 (renewable)

The Department of East Asian Studies, 91ε, welcomes applications for the Postdoctoral Fellowship in Taiwan Studies September 1, 2021-August 31, 2022, renewable for two subsequent years upon review.

The successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of East Asian Studies, a vibrant interdisciplinary community of scholars and graduate students. In addition to conducting their own research, the candidate will be expected to teach one undergraduate course in Taiwan Studies (topic to be decided in consultation with the Departmental Curriculum Committee). The candidate will also present a talk on their research in the East Asian Speakers Series. They will also assist the Department in organizing the Faculty Excellence in Taiwan Studies Distinguished Lecture.


Eligibility:

Applicants should have received their PhD degrees since 2016 or will have completed their PhD degree requirements by August 2021 on studies related to Taiwan in any discipline. We particularly encourage applications from scholars who engage with interdisciplinary approaches to Taiwan studies, including cultural studies, gender studies, media studies, digital humanities, and historical inquiry. A valid work permit will be required from international postdoctoral scholars for registration. See additional information on Postdoctoral Fellows at 91ε.


The annual salary for this position is $55,000 CAD plus research stipend (TBD).
