From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 91µÎµÎ students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Naomi Kaloudis

Naomi Kaloudis, faculty lecturer

Dr. Naomi Kaloudis’ dissertation focused on performance theory and sound play in Theocritus’Idylls. She was concerned with how culture-specific context prioritizes and enhances his verbal lyricism in relation to the poetry’s content. Her other projects (published articles and conference papers) have included such topics as Hellenistic and Augustan poetry, literary theory, oral tradition, gender studies, reception, classical archaeology, and classical language pedagogy. She has worked for six seasons on two excavations: Supervisor for the excavation at Coriglia (outside Orvieto) with the Institute for Mediterranean Archaeology (2010-2012) and Volunteer for the excavation of the Athenian Agora with the American School of Classical Studies at Athens (2006-2008). She has also co-taught two very successful summer study abroad trips through Greece (2014-2015).

Dr. Kaloudis’ teaching responsibilities include Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced Ancient Greek and Latin, Greek Mythology, and literature courses.
