From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 91µÎµÎ students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (Faculty of Arts)


Overview

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) store, analyze and visualize data of geographic positions on the Earth's surface.  

The Minor concentration in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing allows you to develop technical and analytic skills in geospatial analysis. You can complement and expand your studies in geography, the environment, and computer science. 


Careers

By completing a Minor in GIS, students will grasp the necessary skills in geospatial analysis for a variety of career opportunities, including: 

  • Climate Scientist 
  • GIS Manager
