From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 91µÎµÎ students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

MUAR 201 Basic Materials: Western Music (3 credits)

Overview

Music-Arts Faculty : A combination of elementary theory and ear training (sightsinging and aural recognition), and basic piano skills. Topics include: notation of pitch and rhythm, intervals, scales and modes, concept of key, triads and seventh chords, introductory melody and accompaniment writing.
