Redpath Museum Auditorium, 859 rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montreal, QC, H3A 0C4, CA
Price:
Series of six talks: $45 (student or 65+); $90 (general). Refreshments included.

(Dept. of Biology) and Sarah Moser (Dept. of Geography; Associate Member, School of Urban Planning; Director, Urban Studies Program)

Learn about freshwater resources around the world and recently-identified emerging issues for Canadian inland waters. Many areas of the world that are already experiencing a shortage of water resources and desertification have responded with innovative urban planning approaches. Here at home, we are stewards of a significant fraction of the world’s freshwaters and yet we still face important challenges regarding the multiple stressors placed on inland water ecosystems, as well as have large gaps in our knowledge. What will happen as water is commodified and becomes a powerful bargaining tool in global trading?

This event is part of Mini-Science 2019. You must register for the full series of six talks to attend. Registration closes 19 March 2019.
