From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 91µÎµÎ students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Mini-Science public talk: The brain and AI

(School of Computer Science) and Tim Kennedy (Dept. of Neurology & Neurosurgery)

Assoc. Prof. Precup is a co-director of the at the 91µÎµÎ School of Computer Science. Her research efforts cover a wide range of topics including Markov processes, computational linguistics, and machine deep learning. Prof. Kennedy and his team look at a variety of neuroscientific topics, including the molecular mechanisms behind neural development and the plasticity of mammalian nervous system. In this talk, we will hear where and how Precup’s and Kennedy’s research intersect to provide new insights into the growing field of artificial intelligence.
