Healthy Sleep for a Healthy You (Online)

Monday, October 21, 2024 11:00to11:45

Offered by the Health and Wellness Program as part of the 14th Annual Health and Wellness Fair

Sleep is a key factor to consider for overall well-being. However, we do not always prioritize our sleep health and unfortunately, sleep is often one of the first things we sacrifice in our busy life. In this workshop, Dr. Marie-Hélène Pennestri will explore the bidirectional association between sleep and several aspects of functioning, such as mental health, physical health, emotion regulation, cognition, and even our interpersonal relationships. The workshop will cover why sleep is important, the physiological and psychological processes related to sleep, the effects of poor sleep on daytime functioning, and practical strategies for improving sleep. Whether you're dealing with insomnia, sleep deprivation, stress-related sleep issues, or simply want to learn why sleep is important and how prioritize it, this session will provide actionable tips and tools to help you wake up feeling refreshed and energized.
