From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 91µÎµÎ students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Biography: 

Dr. Theo Kolivakis is a psychiatrist affiliated with the movement disorders team at The Neuro. He is the Clinical Coordinator of the Schizophrenia Tertiary Services clinic at the 91µÎµÎ Health Centre (MUHC), and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of 91µÎµÎ. He is co-director of the Neuromodulation Clinic (MUHC). Dr. Kolivakis teaches both residents and medical students. His research interests include the use of neuromodulation techniques (transcranial magnetic stimulation, deep brain stimulation) in treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders, the pharmacotherapy of mood disorders and schizophrenia, and the treatment of neuropsychiatric illnesses. He is a member of the Research Ethics Board of the MUHC, an examiner for psychiatry at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a member of the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Committee at the Royal College. Between 2010 and 2019, he was on the Conseil Administratif and Exécutif of the Association des Médecins Psychiatres du Québec. In his clinical work, Dr. Kolivakis specializes in neuromodulation, psychopharmacology, chronic and treatment-resistant schizophrenia, and neuropsychiatry.
